Settlement Rules

Settlement rules for each sport we grade. The general principles below reflect how our grader actually settles bets and apply to every sport unless a sport-specific page states otherwise.

Bet Results

Grading returns one of six results — there is no separate "Void" or "Push"
status
; both concepts resolve to Refunded:

ResultMeaning
Won / LostStraightforward win/loss.
RefundedStake returned — covers voids, no-action, and pushes (line landed exactly on the result).
Half Won / Half LostSplit-stake outcome on quarter/split Asian handicap & total lines (¼-point margin).
PendingNot yet gradable (fixture not completed, or awaiting data).

A bet that cannot be graded returns Pending or a grading error, not a result.

General Principles

  • Completion-driven, not clock-driven: A market settles once the fixture is
marked completed. We do not enforce minimum-play / elapsed-time windows
(e.g. "X minutes must be played") in the grader — those live in the fixture
lifecycle (see Fixture Lifecycle), which decides when a
    fixture is completed vs cancelled.
  • Cancelled fixtures → Refunded: If a fixture is cancelled, undetermined
bets are Refunded. Markets already unequivocally determined settle normally.
  • Whole-number lines (push): On a 2-way spread/total, a result landing
exactly on a whole-number line is Refunded. On a 3-way spread, a push on the
    favored side settles as Lost.
  • Moneyline ties: On a 2-way market with no draw option, a tie is Refunded.
  • Odd/Even: A result of 0 counts as even.
  • Overtime scoping: Full-game markets include OT/shootouts (taken from the
aggregate score); regulation/period/quarter/half markets are scoped in-grader
by slicing the period array, so they exclude OT unless the market name says
    otherwise (e.g. ... (Incl. OT)).
  • Player props: Listed players must meet the sport's minimum-participation
requirement or bets are Refunded. Which sports/leagues void non-starters or
substitutes is set per market — see each sport page and
    Substitutes & Non-Starters.
  • Dead heats: Automated dead-heat reduction is applied only for golf
(and golf/motorsport futures); the grader emits the count of tied players
for the consumer to apply. Other sports do not compute a dead-heat reduction.
  • Combos: There is no parlay/SGP settlement engine — each selection is graded
independently. Multi-player prop markets settle on one fixture:
    • (Combo) — sums the listed players' stats into a single over/under.
    • (Either) — wins if either player hits; Refunded only if both push.
    • (Each) — wins only if both hit; loses if either misses; else Refunded.
  • Futures: Futures are graded from the tournament leaderboard and are
currently supported for golf and motorsport only. See those pages for
the supported bet types and their rules.

Fixture Lifecycle

Grading is driven by fixture.status. Lifecycle: Unplayed → Live → Completed,
or Delayed / Suspended / Cancelled.

StatusGrading
UnplayedNot graded — the game hasn't started.
Live / Delayed / SuspendedIn-progress: markets already determined settle; the rest stay Pending.
CompletedSettle on final scores/stats.
CancelledUndetermined markets → Refunded; markets with complete final data still settle.

A Delayed fixture auto-cancels (→ Refunded) if it isn't resumed within a time
window: 24h default, 36h for tennis, 120h (5 days) for football. This window
— not any per-market clock — is the only "must resume within N hours" rule we
apply. Cancellation reasons: never_started (delayed past the window),
teams_change (harvested competitors differ from stored), start_date_change
(baseball, pre-live, start date moves to another day).

  • Duplicate fixtures: a fixture flagged duplicate_of another settles off
the canonical fixture's results and mirrors its stats.
  • NBA Summer League: complete-only — bets don't grade until fully finished.
  • MMA: only Completed / Cancelled proceed; any other status is Pending.

Substitutes & Non-Starters

Two universal rules for player props on a completed fixture:

  • A listed player with no stats (did not play / scratched) → Refunded.
  • Where substitute-voiding is on, a substitute who did play is also Refunded
    — except goalscorer-type markets, where a sub who recorded the stat still wins.

Substitute-voiding is on only for these sports:

SportScope
BaseballAll player props, plus non-starters: pitcher must start and throw ≥1 pitch; batter must start and record ≥1 plate appearance. Player props exist for MLB, MLB All-Star, and WBC only.
SoccerAll player props (first/last goalscorer still pays a sub who scored).
FutsalAll player props.
PesäpalloAll player props.
BasketballFirst Basket / First Basket Including FT only. Period/half props also require the player to log minutes in that period.

All other sports do not void a substitute who played — they only refund
players with no stats.

Retirement / walkover / DNF handling (mid-match):

  • Tennis, Badminton, Squash: on retirement or walkover the moneyline settles
on the player who progresses (opponent loses); unresolved set/game/prop markets
    are Refunded.
  • Esports: on retirement the moneyline settles on the winner; completed maps
grade, while unplayed maps and other markets are Refunded.
  • Golf: withdrawn/cut/DQ players lose H2H to a non-DNF opponent; if both DNF,
the one who played more holes wins; 3-balls are Refunded on incomplete 18-hole
    data.
  • Motorsport: DNS/DNF drivers are ranked by laps completed (Refunded if
equal); a DNS driver loses to any finisher.
  • MMA: a no-contest Refunds the whole fixture.
  • Table Tennis, Darts, Snooker, Boxing: no retirement/walkover-specific
voiding — markets settle on the official result and available stats.
